Microsoft for Startups is designed to be a unique program for b2b startups entering their growth phase – typically, with Seed or Series-A level funding, and having found real product market fit with a couple of customers and plans to grow. We provide the tools that a startup needs to develop as a true partner of Microsoft’s, going to market with us and gaining access to established Microsoft sales channels.


Over the course of 1-2 years, the program takes a startup through four key phases:

  1. Technology: We start by working with the startup on product, helping to build on and integrate components of the Microsoft platform. We provide Azure cloud credits, Visual Studio Enterprise, Office 365, enterprise-level technical support, and access to developer and architectural consults to support the design, development and/or migration of solutions as needed.

  2. GTM: We then focus on packaging up the solution for our various channels, including publishing to the cloud marketplace and our internal and partner-facing solution catalogs. We provide various programs to accelerate the startup’s business with and through our marketplaces.

  3. Co-Sell: As the startup’s product starts getting market traction and driving ongoing Azure consumption, we may invite them into our co-sell program, which compensates our internal sales team for selling the startup’s solution into enterprise customer accounts. Generally, this program is only applicable for startups who sell directly to the enterprise.

  4. Success Management: Co-sell ready startups be assigned a Success Manager, who will work with the startup for a period of typically 3-12 months to help them win that first deal or two with Microsoft, setting them up for long term success with our account teams.
